Culinary walking package from Westerbork to Orvelte
Incredible fun to do! The culinary walking package starts at our restaurant with a delicious cup of coffee/tea with cake. You then head to the monumental village of Orvelte for a soup in 'De Schenkerij'.

Iron Age Farm
During your walk you will pass the Iron Age farm. This is a reconstruction of an Iron Age farm. Did you know that a farm always consisted of a living and stable area? It is therefore also referred to as a stable house. Cows, but also pigs, sheep, goats and later horses were often kept.
Lively monument village
You will make a stopover at De Schenkerij in Orvelte. This lively monument village is one of the most beautiful villages in Drenthe and the Netherlands. The monumental farms, the well-maintained houses, the stately trees and beautiful gardens give it a unique atmosphere. Step back in time while enjoying the hospitality.
Orvelterzand
The Orvelterzand was once part of the extensive heathland Orvelterveld. Around 1950 the Orvelterzand was created in its current form. It is a beautiful woodland area consisting of a predominantly flat and moist heathland. It is grazed by beautiful Cow Highlanders and was even one of the first nature reserves in the Netherlands where these impressive animals could graze.

This package includes:
- Start and return at Abdij de Westerburcht in Westerbork
- Reception between 10.00 - 11.00 hours
- Reception with coffee/tea/cappuccino & homemade cake
- Walking route Westerbork-Orvelte-Westerbork (10 km)
- Stopover at 'De Schenkerij' in Orvelte including a delicious soup of the day
- Upon return you will enjoy a luxury sandwich (choice of: meat, fish or vegetarian)
- In total, the package lasts +/- 4 hours
