Herinneringscentrum Kamp Westerbork |The story about the lives of the victims and the survivors of the camp is being told in the museum of the memorial center. Personal stories in the form of exhibitions and movies make the memorial center an interesting place for children as well. Movies from 1944 provide an image and a feeling about the speaking past concerning a partially furnished barracks, a last farewell greeting ejected from the train, a large scale model of the camp and drawings of children playing.
The more than thousand names of the victims are continuously being projected in the museum. The museum also organises many activities next to the exhibitions. Memorable movies show the history about the camp or about people that were held as prisoners. The staff of the museum provide explanations about the collection items and organise lectures. Also for children there are special activities.
The last Sunday of every month, the museum invites an eyewitness to stell his or her story. Someone who explains about his or her experience during the Second World War.
